I’ll answer questions you have about the library and research. But I look forward to input from others who read this as well!

  2. Still a little confused about why I, an experienced but over loaded cataloger would want to spend the time to have a wiki or a blog. I don’t want to live my life on a computer. Much rather do things that are creative.

  3. There’s no reason everyone in the world should do everything the world offers. In my opinion blogs and wikis are for people who want to write on blogs and wikis.

On the other hand, sometimes when you try something new, that you’re sure you won’t like, leads you to something you love!

  4. Writing is creative! A good wiki or blog is creative!

But on the other hand, not everything is for everybody. It’s difficult for those of us who live on the computer at work to love the computer at home as well. What I look for in blogs and wikis are ways they afford me interactions, experiences that I never had before them.

For example, Ravelry.com allows me to meet creative knitters, spinners, weavers, and crocheters from all over the world who are experimenting with their art every day. And allow me to share in their joy. My almost 77-year-old mother is fascinated by the 22-year-old men and women who design and dream of things that open a new world to her.
